A family home becomes a cohesive indoor/outdoor oasis.

Located in Sydney's Northern beaches, this multi-layered single level dwelling required a contemporary cosmetic renovation.

The house flows seamlessly from one space to another, starting with a sun-filled living area that transitions into a corridor kitchen, dining room and a casual family room at the back.

The bedrooms line the left hand side of the house ending with the master bedroom, ensuite and walking robe.

The tones and textures from the stone wall above the pool - the main visual focal point from inside the house - informed the materials and soft furnishings palette of soft browns, greys, amethyst and muted greens.

The house is a fusion of mid-century modern with some Balinese influences that reflect the clients' personality.

The streamlined European oak furniture and joinery is balanced by graphic elements and the liberal use of wallpaper that provides texture and warmth.

The bathrooms were kept light and airy with an emphasis on modern amenity and easy luxury.

We created a indoor / outdoor oasis that functions perfectly for this small family, and is at once a celebration of quintessential Australian living.
