We wanted to achieve a lightness and freshness throughout, completely unlike the former dark wood-panelled house with enclosed rooms, yellow walls and shag carpet.
Wahroonga House
A Hamptons refresh for this ‘grande old dame’ in Sydney’s Upper North Shore.
Behind the brown brick façade of this grand mansion lay a house brimming with potential. Our clients’ brief was a touch of Hamptons with lots of white and blues ‘because these are colours we’ll never tire of’. There is a symphony of blues used throughout the house, whether inky navy, teal or cornflower. They set the tone early on from the entry foyer and formal lounge at the front of the house and continue to meander all the way to the expansive outdoor living area at the back.
Artwork is prevalent in most rooms and we relied on the colour, glorious textures and graphic patterns of the soft furnishings to weave the stories of our clients’ lives.
The much larger white kitchen ties the formal dining to the casual living area and becomes part of the outdoor entertainment space with the bi-fold windows open.
“We handed over the reins to Ioanna Lennox Interiors and they took our thoughts and created a beautiful living space, full of colour, texture and interest. We could not have done this without them.”
This is a house where the future is bright and outdoor living is celebrated by the entire family, including the many pets.
